      Hello,

I was given a gun by my FIL and it is in amazing condition. I know that it is a trap rifle and it has Lefever Arms Company Ithica NY stamped on it. I believe it was made in 1928 but have no idea how to determine what grade it is or how to price it to sell. Any input is appreciated. TIA

A picture is worth a thousand words. Also if you can post ANY markings that are in the gun a their location that will help. Thanks

The serial number looks to be 18384 and then they have number 12 stamped

This is an Ithaca Gun Co. Lefever Nitro Special Single Barrel trap gun introduced in 1927 to follow the introduction of the double barrel Nitro Special in 1921. This follows their purchase of the Lefever Arms Co. in Syracuse in 1916 when they moved the operations to Ithaca and made up some original Lefever sideplates using leftover inventory. They introduced the single barrel trap version in 1927.

They were made to shoot modern2 3/4 inch smokeless shells. I wouldn’t recommend steel or magnum loads.

They sell in the vicinity of $500.

That is stellar information and I thank you.
